This museum project was centered on the multifaceted relationship between performance and design- ranging from aspects of performance as related to the performing arts to the architectural potential of performance in design. The design began by considering how function, structure, infrastructure, and program could occur simultaneously in elements. Working with physical models to find stable forms let me to the discovery of how the process of deformation allow for not only the separation of spaces to occur but also how other aspects of architecture including circulation and enclosure could also be considered in the deformation and the transformation. The spaces are formed through extrusions and deformation of the structural ribs forming the exterior and the interior relationship of the inhabitable facade.
Design proposals and the design for the performance and design museum i loved this design with all its flow and curvature. I think the outside of a building should represent what is on the inside. People say don’t judge a b oak by its cover but why not the outside is just as important as the inside, It shows one story one life and it is a representation of what something is and it sets all the expectations of what is to come.
